AMBRELA TEAM
AMBRELA’s Team consists of 5 people who are responsible for project management and implementation. Whereas the Management Group works in the AMBRELA office, the Implementation Group delivers daily awareness-raising and education activities at a separate location.
Beyond the technical skills, professional experiences, and enthusiasm of its individual members, the AMBRELA Team draws strength from its diversity. Consisting of persons from Albanian, Bosnian, Macedonian, Romani, and Serbian ethnic backgrounds, the AMBRELA Team embodies the richness of Macedonian society and serves as a model of integration.
Management Team:
Ljatife Šikovska – Director
Completed university studies in physical education at the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. A former professional football player, she now serves as a coach for the Open Fun Football School. She has extensive experience in working with and for grass-roots organizations, including the Youth Centre Nadež in Šuto Orizari. Through her work as a community activist and motivator, Ms. Šikovska has become a highly visible role model for the local Romani community. Moreover, her participation in local, national, and international projects has resulted in a broad and dense network of professional contacts. Mrs. Sikovska is a community work oriented professional who believes that the power of integration lies in the bottom-up approach and (self)empowerment of minority groups.

Aida Mustafovska – Manager
Obtained a university degree in German language and literature from the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. In addition to her experience as a teacher at a local school in Šuto Orizari, Ms. Mustafovska has participated in local and national projects on human rights and gender issues, health care, and mentorship for Romani youth. She was previously a member of the youth organization Romki liderki (Romani Women Leaders), where she addressed issues concerning the position of girls and women in Romani tradition.

Gordana Rodić-Kitanovska – Programme Manager / Advisor
Holds an MA in English language and literature from the University of Utrecht, where she specialized in American studies. Ms. Rodić-Kitanovska has considerable work experience in the NGO sector in South-Eastern Europe as well as in the Netherlands. Her most recent long-term engagement was as International Programme Manager for the European Centre for Minority Issues, leading implementation of the research and action-oriented project “Romani Expert Groups for Romani Integration”, which supported professionalization of Roma in Macedonia with experience and expertise in the areas of education, employment, health, and human rights.

Implementation Team:
Imerzad Avdi –Project Coordinator
Holds a University diploma as a teacher of Albanian language and literature. She has a previous experience of working both in educational system as well as within several non-profit organizations (Nadez, UNICEF projects with refugee children). Currently she works as a project coordinator within AMBRELA whereby the focus lies on the homework assistance and mentorship programmes for the Romani children.
Sonja Arskovska – Project Assistant
Is a advanced student on Macedonian language and literature. Mrs. Arskovska also has a great experience within the non-profit sector - her role within AMBRELA is to support the project coordination on a daily basis and assist the Romani children in their improving of Macedonian language skills that are crucial for their integration.
In addition, the implementation team comprises of 8 Romani girls who function as project assistants / peer mentors for the Romani children who visit AMBRELA regularly. Their involvement as peer mentors is a significant contribution to the support of the professional development and (self) empowerment of Romani girls in Suto Orizari municipality.
